Ardeel

He's an adult Squirrel, a bold, courageous and combative Armiger, and also has great charisma that he has yet to realize. He's the prince of Lonnut, capital of the Squirrel people kingdom, son of a noble king and betrothed to the most beautiful female in the entire kingdom.

But he's also a character of deep insecurity. As long as it comes to taking care of himself and fighting, he overflows with courage and willforce, but when he has to take care of the leadership of the kingdom, and his people, his doubts will manifest themselves strongly. To guide their destiny and take responsibility for their lives, his subconscious compares him to his father (and grandfather), prompting him to believe not to be up to them.

At the beginning of the Tale, he will present himself as a self-confident, bold and contemptuous character, always ready to launch into battle to defend all peoples from the Rat People invasion. Especially during the great Varoian war, he will show himself as a brave warrior, skilled and unstoppable, whose value is thwarted only by his contempt for his comrade Tamar, who he will often points as a coward, inept and a traitor by nature, despite his efforts to help them. However, after the war, from the moment Wrik and his followers take Squirrel people hostage, Ardeel will greatly change his attitude. Seeing the conditions in which his people are forced, the death of his parents and relatives, and the extreme danger in which his future wife and queen finds herself, will make him give in and he will begin to feel the insurmountable weight of responsibility for his people: Ardeel will begin to feel unfit and unprepared, not up to par with his father. At that point it will be Tamar who, overcoming the prince's distrust and ignoring racial and cultural differences, will push Ardeel to recompose himself, obtaining the rest of the group’s support to the point of breaking through the future king’s contempt for him.

While being not more than 3 feet tall, Ardeel is as slender as muscular, and boasts strength and prowess well above the norm for his people. He rarely takes off his plate armor, and much less the golden diadem that identifies him as prince. He's so attached and possessive of his swords that he even gave them a name: Prudence is the shortsword, and Perseverance is the longsword.
