Thela

She is a young swan, gentle, sympathetic and charming, always open and accommodating when dealing with other races. She has great respect for the teachings of her people’s Ancestral Princes. She has a yellow beak with two black spots on the edges and always loves to dress in soft colors with jewelry on wrists and neck.

She’s a Prophet, even if, at the beginning of the Tale, she learned about her gift of foresight only recently. Her divination powers are still a bit randomic, unpredictable and difficult to understand: they appeared showing her the gloomy illness process that brought her mother to death just a year before the Tale. However, she’s a lucky one thanks to the support and aid of her two grandmothers and her two spiteful younger brothers. Even more, she’s lucky due to her father’s teachings, the great Prophet Eleio. Her father is now in a rather precarious emotional balance, the loss of his wife has upset him and he still struggles to manage and hide his difficulties. In spite of this, however, he's a true life-example for Thela, a beacon for his people, a light on the path of his citizens and all the people, and she longs to become just like him in future.

From the very beginning of her journey, much more than those who will escort her throughout the Tale, Thela's true companion will be Lotru Kori, the bewildering deity of nightmares and madness. It, in its way, will take care of her beliefs' strength and instruct her on fate. Thela will relate to it with deep awe, fear and bewilderment, as anyone would do at first, but then their relationship will change and they will begin to understand each other. In fact, it will be only thanks to the disturbing presence of Lotru Kori that Thela will be able to understand the prophecy and the very mission of her, even if this will lead her to be misunderstood and mistrusted by her adventure companions.

She's an extremely good and peaceful character, who learned magic only as a help to improve her divination powers. She avoids violence and will always refuse to wear and use both weapons and armors, preferring the smart use of foresight and defense spells. However, during the third season, the deity Rowana, to celebrate Thela's companion memory, will turn Caius' spear remains into a magical quarterstaff that will act as a channeler for Eternal power.
