Eagles
The Eagle people can be generally compared to a blend of Tolkien's Elves society and members of the Accipitriformes biological order.
Eagles are one of the twelve races of anthropomorphic birds that populate Yanìs, and are grouped in the subgenus of Raptors together with Hawks, Owls, Secretary birds and Vultures.

Physically, they are of average height and build, standing about 6 feet tall, and have a muscular physique that is often stronger than it appears, primarily due to their ability to fly. Their strong wings have a span of about 8 feet, but despite their strength, Eagles are also known for their fragility: their hollow bones are a characteristic shared by other anthropomorphic birds that can fly. Their chicks are born ovoviviparous, meaning they hatch within the mother's body, and families typically only have one or two chicks throughout their lives.
Eagle people have always been ruled by a single royal dynasty and are faithfully obeyed by all, even when the ruling government is untrusted. The king of Eagles is assisted by powerful wizards and priests of Ayrus, and he is always accompanied by his eldest chick. Most of their cities consist of large, finely carved buildings in the highest peaks of rock, with tall palaces and spired domed roofs, often with large windows or circular balconies adorned with white marble columns and connected by long Tibetan bridges. Although they have the ability to fly, they generally prefer not to and in some cases it is even considered rude to do so unless necessary. As a result, it is rare to see Eagles in flight, even within their cities. They view flying as a precious gift that should not be taken for granted, but only used when necessary.
Eagle people are skilled hunters and breeders, especially of sheep and goats, but they rarely practice agriculture, except for the cultivation of medicinal herbs, due to their carnivorous diet. They are known for their blacksmithing and sculpting skills, and their artistry in metal, stone, and wood is highly regarded. They have rich mines and are said to have forged their forges deep within the heart of the mountains to reach the lava sources used in their works. They practice meditation, and their philosophical texts are highly regarded by all races, although only a few have been granted access to their vast libraries. Those lucky few who received this honor, in fact, happily did their utmost to spread the news of the fabulous philosophical and poetic works written by Eagle people, entranced by the depth and wisdom of their words.
They speak the Aevar language, a subtle and melodious language able to make even a dull and narrow text harmonious and poetic (perhaps a Spanish gibberish).
Religiously they are mostly devoted to Ayrus (deity of time and meditation), Jimbasi (deity of courage and nobility), and Vael Nhor (deity of magic and knowledge), but here and there also thrive the cult of Najan (deity of hunt and agriculture), Sia Mori (deity of arts and will), Rowana (deity of family and love), and Caamiran (deity of law and cities).
Their Ancestral Princes were Feanor and Merethyl, who taught their race the value of patience and calm. For the Eagle people, the passing of time is not a limitation and the end of life doesn't mark the end of their works or contributions to their people and culture. There's no concept of idleness in their culture: for an Eagle, also the time spent staring at the void is important, since a mind never stops and always elaborates something that is worth facing with patience and with the right attention.
