Peafowls
The Peafowl people can be generally compared to a blend of Qahtan and Saba kingdom society and members of Pavo biological genus.
Peafowls are one of the twelve races of anthropomorphic birds that populate Yanìs, and are grouped in the subgenus of Feathereds together with Crows, Grouses, Swans and Woodpeckers.

Physically, they are of medium-low height and have a slender and thin body, barely reaching a height of 5 feet. Their appearance shows one of the most distinctive cases of sexual dimorphism: the most noticeable feature is present only in male specimens, the rump's coverts, which are abnormally developed in length (up to 5 feet) and each of them widens at the end to form a "palette" with the typical eye-shaped spot, these can be raised for an ostentatious display (the "wheel"). They do not have wings and, instead, have fleshy, featherless legs (from knee down) and arms (from elbow down), both gray-pink and four-toed. Their chicks are born ovoviviparous, meaning they hatch within the mother's body, and families usually never have more than 3 or 4 chicks throughout their life.
The Peafowl people were originally divided into shaʻb, or communities, on the edge of Ori-An desert hills, separated and almost autonomous from each other. They are a people of strong religious extraction, thanks to their Ancestral Prince's guidance, who built the very first Rowana's temple in history, a cult that still has its core in this people. However, very soon, some political leaders of this tribal community managed to create a huge commonwealth of shaʻb that occupied much of the western territory and took the title of caliphate. This is a form of monarchical government with a strict religious trait devoted to Rowana (or to Azlean in some regions). It is said to have arisen from a claim to be the pursuance of their Ancestral Prince's direction.
The Peafowl people have always been involved in the extremely profitable spice trade, especially frankincense and myrrh. In fact, they were enriched thanks to the trading of aromatic resins, but also by developing a thriving agriculture and fine precious stones and perfumes crafting. Their huge and eye-catching capital is Ma'rib, located along one of the two ends of the merchant route that passes through the kingdoms of Iwara, Kibaya, and Shino, bypassing the Uhn mountain ranges and connecting almost all of the continent. Peafowl people are also renowned for training great engineers, both civilians and plumbers, as well as sculptors. They are credited with constructing the first dam of Ma'rib in prehistoric times.
They speak the Aevar language, a subtle and melodious language able to make even a dull and narrow text harmonious and poetic (perhaps a Spanish gibberish).
Religiously they are mostly devoted to Rowana (deity of family and love), Azlean (deity of gardens and medicine), and Najan (deity of agriculture and community), but here and there also thrive the cults of Ekoari (deity of commerce and crafting), Dekar (deity of pride and wealth), Vael Nhor (deity of knowledge and magic), and Madra (deity of discord and corruption).
Their Ancestral Princes were Melek Ta'ūs and Balkiyis Asar Dhū, who taught their race the supremacy of males due to their beauty, which guarantees them that their every desire must be satisfied; the right to have their own harem of females; and that they do not have to worry about offspring, unless they are adult enough to need a better life teaching. The community life of the Peafowl people revolves, and must revolve, around the males of greater attractiveness. They hold power like they hold their lively, showy, and majestic beauty, in a natural way.
