LOHUDON'S ANIMISM

The Gods of the Ring are immortal and omniscient, but they did not always exist. In fact, Yanìs created them with its final act before self-exiling into the Eternal Numbness. Many creatures already populated the planet before the deities' arrival, including animals, plants, dragons, and monsters created and molded by the Ancients Fallen at the beginning of time. Even before the planet had its own life essence in the Great Mother, everything was composed of matter and energy, a unique mixture that only mortal lives possess: Lohudon, the primitive spirit of everything. Each animal, monster, and plant, as well as natural elements and environments, and even the most basic aspects of life and death, holds a spirit.

The intimate and archetypal connection between the spirits of the world is a gift that few people develop today. However, it has been revered and held in high regard since the prehistory of the Anthros. Those who practice Lohudon and can communicate through the primal spirit with everything around them are called shamans and witches. They were the first guides and teachers of life, capable of showing their fellow citizens the best way to a stronger and wiser existence.

However, with the development of societies and the creation of large cities, the animal instincts of the Anthros gradually faded away, estranging them from their origins and making the connection to Lohudon increasingly difficult. The prayers and rituals addressed to the Gods of the Ring replaced ancient practices as the deities willingly gave their favor to those who honored them, and they were often closely interested in their affairs. Few races and societies are still tied to Lohudonist practices. Some manage to make these practices coexist with deities' devotion, while others, very few to be honest, firmly reject any deities’ interference in their life, completely relying on spiritual communion with the surrounding world.
