Craft Guild

Despite being one of the smallest and least utilized guilds, the Craft Guild, also known as the Guild of Artisans, has great historical importance. Members of this guild, particularly the Order of Scribes, are responsible for the invention and development of meta-magic.

Unlike traditional magic-users who study mystical algorithms to absorb universal energies and shape the surrounding reality, Scribes sought to fix that power onto physical supports to make it permanent. However, the power generated by orthodox and traditional magic is too strong and corrosive to be contained in an inanimate object. Therefore, they were forced to change their energy source and found the right combination in their own life-energy. Many orders began to use this new form of magic, adapting it to exploit the most incisive aspects of their specialty.

However, all meta-magic users face a negative side that prevents it from achieving the same high results as other forms of magic: meta-magic corrodes its user, slowly bringing them towards physical degeneration. The more often meta-magic is used, the faster its user will face premature death.

Order of Alchemists

The specialty of this order is the alchemical art and the ability to create all kinds of alchemical discoveries through a scientific and pragmatic approach. Alchemists, in fact, often consider themselves as real scientists, rather than magicians or enchanters. Their science is supported by the use of meta-magic, which involves using their own blood as the ultimate ingredient. This allows them to extract extraordinary properties from animal and monstrous organs, plant, minerals, and more to create potions with incredible effects, such as invisibility or fire breath potions, explosive mixtures, and miraculous
ointments.

Order of Arteficers

The specialty of this order is the forging of weapons and armors imbued with magical energy, capable of upsetting the outcome of a battle. Most Arteficers began their careers as simple blacksmiths and then pushed themselves further towards improving their work. Through the engraving of runes and hieroglyphs, Arteficers can create parasitic or freezing weapons, armor as light as invulnerable, or apply various other effects. However, while enchanting their creations, the Arteficers' meta-magic does not make them immune to the passage of time and deterioration.

Order of Herbalists

The specialty of this order is the knowledge and use of the unique properties of plants, flowers, and pollen to create healing remedies, antidotes, drugs, and poisons. Unlike the Alchemists, Herbalists are true scientists and the only order of the Craft guild that does not use meta-magic. Initially, meta-magic was practiced by Herbalists to increase the effect of the extracts. However, with the increase of the Druidic religion among their ranks, the order itself imposed a ban on meta-magic to rely entirely on the gifts that the Great Mother Yanìs bestows with plenty.

Order of Occultists

The specialty of this order is the creation of the most varied and incredible magical objects, from small rings to enchanted wands, from extravagant clothes to the most unthinkable objects of power, both permanent and for single or limited use. This order is certainly the most varied, as it includes jewelers, tailors, goldsmiths, sculptors, carvers, and much more. Most Occultists have a real craving for researching, using, accumulating, and creating magical items. Many of them believe that magical objects can and should make daily life better and easier for all.

Order of Scribes

The specialty of this order is the written word and the graphic ability to create masterpieces often composed of a single ideogram or rune. Scribes are spellcasters who specialize in creating magical scrolls, simple and small sheets of paper that allow them to cast a spell. Scrolls, also called ofuda, can only be used once, as the power of meta-magic contained within them destroys the subtle material they are made of. Despite this limitation, however, scrolls allow scribes to duplicate spells of wizards, shamans, druids, priests, and anyone else who uses traditional or orthodox magic.
