Astral creatures
When the Gods of the Ring took their place in the universe, they created various Planes of Existence, all intertwined but never in contact. Five of these Planes of Existence are called the Divine Planes and welcome the souls of Anthros after death. Elysium, Limbo, and Abyss are the three main Planes in which the souls of the dead settle. Then there is the Darkness Plane, which welcomes damned souls, and the Ethereal Plane, for the souls of madmen and suicides. Each time an Anthro dies, their soul recomposes itself into the feral form of their race and takes on characteristic traits of divine nature. These are called Astral creatures, or sometimes known as demi-elemental creatures.
The Elysian creatures appear as golden animals with bright and luminous colors. They are often larger in size and have additional wings or more pairs of wings, resembling what one would call an "angelic version". On the other hand, Limbic creatures appear as "mechanical versions" since nothing is more neutral and impartial than a machine. Therefore, they lose fur and feathers in favor of metallic skins, with muscles composed of gears and steam mechanisms. Finally, Abysmal creatures appear with scaly skins full of bony bulges and dark colors. They smell of sulfur and have disproportionate fangs and claws, resembling what one would call a "demonic version". Moreover, the souls of the damned take the form of undead animals, such as skeletons, zombies, and mummies, because the Darkness Plane is "home" and the place of birth of undeath. Lastly, Ethereal creatures take the form of ectoplasmic animals, with translucent and incorporeal shapes and consistency. They're creatures generated by distorted minds and therefore have distorted features. Except for a few Mesmerists who dare to summon them, the only Ethereal creatures that could be found on the First Material Plane are those who act as spirit guides for Lohudonist shamans.
Most of the summoning spells performed by Priests always convoke only Astral creatures to serve and help them on the First Material Plane. However, although the practice and habit of using these spells is allowed, and sometimes even promoted by the same deities, few Priests make use of these spells because it’s always equivalent to recalling the souls of the dead who are now at peace (so to speak) in the afterlife.
