Griffin

Griffins are creatures born of the glorious passion of Great Mother Yanìs for the beauty of colors and grace. Although they are quadrupeds and devoid of wings, these creatures still remain, for all intents and purposes, birds. Some scholars believe that if observed carefully in their intimacy, Griffins show an inner sadness attributable to a nostalgia for an open sky.
They have a narrow and short lumbar region, high shoulder blades, and broad limbs with relatively short paws. In appearance, they are not unlike a smilodon tall in size as a cow, but their clawed paws are eagle-like, and their bodies are entirely covered in colorful plumage. Many specimens have colors that vaguely mirror those of a hoopoe, including the broad tail of black feathers with white spots, but colors can also vary widely. Unlike birds, however, Griffins have muzzles without beaks and are rather similar to dromaeosauridae, with long rows of sharp teeth. However, Griffins' most distinctive feature is certainly their sharp sabers: two long canines, even up to 30 cm long, that many scholars believe may be egg-teeth that are not lost or replaced and probably continue to grow throughout their lives.
Most Griffins live in hilly or mountainous desert areas, mainly where high temperatures resist even higher altitudes. Their nests resemble those of weaverbirds, large and complex "round huts" braided with straw and mud, often with many nests attached to each other and communicating.
Aggressive and territorial, they are not mere beasts, but shrewd fighters and loyal companions to those who earn their respect. Weighing about 100-150 kg and 7 feet long, Griffins have an imposing profile that has long been used in heraldry as a symbol of power. Although they can sometimes be trained or befriended to serve as mounts, Griffins do not have an innate affinity with Anthro peoples and often clash with townsfolk in an attempt to forage for meat. At the same time, it is also known that they can turn into valiant war steeds that staunchly defend their owner's life.
