Wargaz

What some define as Worak's magnum opus, the dark lord of terror from ancient times, is undoubtedly the creature known as Wargaz. Their appearance is both strange and terrifying, as the few who have seen them and lived to tell the tale have described them as a macabre mixture of a wolf, a hyena, a bat, and a monkey. Their body, particularly their torso, legs, and tail, closely resembles that of a huge black wolf. Their muzzle, on the other hand, is slightly flattened like that of a hyena, and a thick crest of spotted fur runs along their back. However, they also possess huge pointed bat-like ears that enable them to detect any movement within several meters. Though they typically move on all fours and are not particularly skilled at climbing, all four of their paws are prehensile and similar to those of an ape.
Little is known about their nature other than the blood-stained accounts and delusional writings of those who survived their attacks and were left almost insane. Wargazes prowl in darkness and hunt at night, preying on any available quarry. It is quite rare to see them during the day because they have a weakness: they despise light. If exposed to bright light, they will howl in fury and retreat.
Their most disturbing ability is to teleport themselves short distances through shadows. If a shadow area is large enough to contain them and there are no strong light sources nearby, Wargaz can disappear into darkness and reappear in another shadowed area. This ability of theirs is particularly remarkable because they were created long before the existence of the Darkness Plane, the plane through which they move. This remains a mystery waiting to be unravelled.
